9 1/2 Weeks

I really just wanted to have a post with that title. I'll even go so far as to cheat and post-date this for tomorrow morning at 1:32 am.

Yesterday at the Doctor's office, he weighed 16 lbs. 4 oz. They were kind enough to just write >95% for his weight percentile. At this rate, he'll be out of his infant carrier by 4 months! Our friends who have the exact same carrier used theirs until 9 months!

He also got 4 shots. He wailed at the time, but he calmed down in just a few minutes and then just slept a lot the rest of the day. He was quite the trooper! Thanks to those that recommended we give him Tylenol before the appointment, that may have helped.

Gavin was big like that and outgrew all his clothes, but after he started moving around more he slimmed down and was able to fit back into them months later.

The problem I had was taking him to the grocery store. He was too big to use the infant carseat that fit nicely on the grocery cart, but he couldn't sit up by himself to be placed in the cart seat.

That's good to know, we won't be too quick to give away his clothes.

As far as the grocery cart thing goes, Did you try duct tape?

We've found there are just some carts that are perfect for the car seat and others that don't work at all. It's really an issue the car seat manufacturer's and retail stores (with carts) of the nation should work on. I think it should be their top priority.

Except that he isn't growing out of them because he is fat, it's because he is too tall for most of them. I don't think he'll get shorter. We'll keep the clothes all the same.
