Well, I can't officially call it sleeping through the night, because I did have to get up at 1:30 and re-swaddle and re-binky him (I worry that maybe we're forming a habit???). But he did make it from about 7pm until almost 6am until he needed to eat again. So we got some pretty good sleep for a change. He was very hungry and mom's boobs were very full, but that didn't stop him from eating.
Christmas was loud. It was good. There were 8 kids ranging from 9 years to 9 months. The Boy got a little over-stimulated a couple times, but for the most part it was all good.

Actually it was 9 years to 10 weeks. All in all still enjoyable though.
The wife.
Gavin never used a binky so we didn't have that problem. I don't know if this actually works but I've read that some people scatter a bunch of binkys around the bed so if one gets lost another is within reach. He might be too little yet for that strategy.
Details, shmeetails. I meant to say 9 years to 9 weeks, not months. But yes, you're right, it was 10 weeks.
Yah, I kind of wish he didn't take a binky, but he always seems to need/want to be sucking, even if he's not hungry. He's probably not too far from that strategy working, he frequently brings his hands, & whatever's in them, to his mouth.
Gavin was (and still is) an avid thumbsucker. Before he could coordinate just getting his thumb in his mouth, he'd shove his fist or fingers in. The binky may in fact be an easier habit to break eventually since you can actually take that away. I don't think the pediatrician will recomend amputation for Gavin's addiction.
If so, you might consider a 2nd opinion.
